Microsoft 365 Updates

All of the updates to the Microsoft 365 services can be found in your admin centre, but here is a summary of the important changes from the last week.

FREE cybersecurity awareness training!

One of the biggest pieces of news this week is that Microsoft are releasing a cybersecurity awareness kit in partnership with Terranova Security.

This contains three full end user courses on:

  • Phishing
  • Protecting Home Computers
  • Privacy

All Microsoft 365 customers have access to this course – it can be taken online, or if you organisation chooses you can self host it.

The training is available here, to any authenticated Microsoft 365 user: sip.security.microsoft.com/attackSimulatorTrainings

Teams room management

Microsoft Teams Rooms is a complete meeting experience bringing HD video, audio and content sharing to meeting spaces of all sizes. This update will provide a new administration portal in the admin center to enable remote management of Teams Rooms devices.

Invite a group or distribution list to a Teams meeting

Soon, you will be able to invite a group or distribution list to a Teams meeting. The meeting initiation will be delivered to all members of the list.

As always when using groups and distribution lists, caution is advised – be sure you know who the recipients are!

Microsoft are adding a vertical navigation bar on the left of the page to improve usability.
